Who we are

An operator's view of the deal.

Most advice about buying and selling companies comes from people who have never had to make payroll. Ours has. Our people have owned and run businesses, carried the responsibility that comes with staff and suppliers, and been on the owner's side of a sale rather than the adviser's.

We set up businesses for our clients, bring them to a saleable state and pass them on, or help you reshape the business you have into something stronger.

That history is the whole proposition. When we look at your numbers we are reading them the way a buyer will read them, and the way you will have to defend them in a room where the money is real.

What we do

Two disciplines, one continuous engagement.

We help companies cope with the increasing complexity of business, finance and law. Consulting makes a company worth acquiring. Acquisition work makes the transfer happen cleanly. Most clients need both, in that order.

01

Business consulting

Structure, margin and process work on companies that are profitable but disorganised, or organised but unprofitable. Financial structuring, operational clean-up, and the policies and procedures that stand up to outside scrutiny.

02

Acquisition advisory

Buy-side search and evaluation, sell-side preparation, valuation sense-checking, due diligence support, and deal structuring. We work on the questions that decide the price, not the ones that decide the paperwork.

03

Exit readiness

Most owners start preparing to sell about two years too late. We work backwards from what a buyer will demand and fix it while there is still time for the fix to show up in the accounts.

How we work

Findings you can act on, not a bound report.

Every engagement produces something you keep: a written assessment, a prioritised plan, a documented process, a company that runs without you. Whether you continue to the next stage or not, what we have built stays yours and stays usable by your own staff.

We take on a limited number of engagements at a time. That is a deliberate constraint, and it is the reason the person you first speak to is still on your file at completion.

Whether you are buying, selling, fixing or preparing, the first conversation costs nothing and usually clarifies more than a month of internal debate.
